I found these colorful boletus under the trees around the visitor center in Malibu Creek State Park on November 2oth 2010,  The colors on this mushroom are amazing.

Im super new, so I am not sure which boletus..

Here they are about a week later  12/4/2010...  They are starting to turn blue in some spots.

Their Home...  ( I would not mind it.....I would not mind it at all! Move over mushrooms!)

Here is Video on YouTube, Very cool, I don't think these are the same type, but I will definitely have to try this next time.....

Malibu Creek State park is a historical wonderland, nestled in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains. I have hiked a bunch of the
trails through out the park, and I have gone as far as the Mash site which is about 2.5 miles in.

These particular bolete's were found under the trees near the visitor center.
